Pinoy Media Congress

It was a good experienced to be part of Pinoy Media Congress. I felt excited from the moment I knew that the second group was joined in the Pinoy Media Congress. The congress was held successfully with the help of ABS-CBN on Nov. 27&28 in Miriam College. ABS-CBN gave bags as a remembrance with some products like mentos candy inside, they gave also an I.D for all the students who attended the seminar.

All of the speakers in the Media Congress were all professional and has a high position in ABS-CBN, but the most I admired to them was Karen Davila. She was really professional the way she talk, deliver her speech and how to deal to the audience. I was impressed when Karen Davila answered the question from the professor of UP about the choices of medium in using the media, Karen was really confident in answering the question even the question was asked in a shocked way. The UP professor has a high temper and tried to insult Karen, but Karen on the other hand stay calm and speak clearly and cooled.

Charo Santos caught my attention while delivering her speech. She was gorgeous in person than in television. She looks young and sexy. I was inspired from her experiences. She narrated her life story from being P.A until she reached her position today.

I’ve learned to Charo that, it’s okay to start as a production assistant, because in media it doesn’t matter where you start, the capability and creativity will lead you the way to success

ABS-CBN prioritize the viewer, I think all the networks do. It was a big deal for them (ABS-CBN) the feedback of the people. They value the opinion of the viewers and tried to change the flow of the story. Example, Charo mentioned that people reacted in the teleserye “Sa Piling Mo” because the story was all about third party, ABS-CBN tried to look some angle to present it in a nice way and make a good message for the people.

Therefore, I’ve learned a lot from the seminar, although we sight only the ABS-CBN, but still the topic was still related to my course. We encouraged doing well as we heard the sentiments of the experts.
